Anybody who has the slightest knowledge about cars knows that Jeep® automakers have built a reputation on making durable and no-frills four-by-four vehicles suited for the wilds of Michigan. While Jeep automakers certainly still make those vehicles (the beastly Jeep Grand Cherokee that Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids love comes to mind), the automaker is attempting to make cars that are equally suited for driving to work in Grand Rapids. The new 2014 Jeep Cherokee is at the forefront of this shift in philosophy.

Since its release earlier this years, the 2014 Jeep Cherokee has been making waves for its rare combination of car-like driving and the off-road durability for which Jeep vehicles are known. The 2014 Jeep Cherokee is available in four different trims, starting with the base Sport, up to the Trailhawk, which is designed more for off-road enthusiasts. In fact, the Trailhawk features more aggressive styling and an endless amount of high-performing Jeep technologies, such as the Select-Terrain system, which adjusts the suspension based on whatever terrain you are driving on.

Thanks to the two engine choices from Chrysler, the Jeep Cherokee provides an ample amount of power. First off, the base 2.4-liter Tigershark MultiAir 2 I-4 engine is great for everyday city driving with its 184 horsepower and 171 pound-per-foot of torque. If you need a little bit more oomph, you can upgrade to the award-winning 3.2-liter Pentastar V6 that produces 271 horsepower and 239 pound-per-foot of torque. If you're looking to use your Jeep Cherokee for towing, go with this engine, as it can tow up to 4,500 pounds.

Here at Courtesy Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM, we couldn't be more excited to have the 2014 Jeep Cherokee in our new Jeep inventory. Come on down for a test drive!
