Jeep® To Launch New Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler in 2017

The Jeep® brand continues to grow. Fresh off the successful addition of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, the automaker has just announced that it will launch redesigns of two of its most popular vehicles, the Jeep Wrangler and the Jeep Grand Cherokee, in 2017. While this seems like it is far in the future, it's still important to note that one of our favorite automakers continues to innovate with new redesigns and new concepts, as innovating is essential to brand growth.

In addition to the new Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler, Chrysler Group also announced, in a presentation to its investors in Auburn Hills, Michigan, that it will launch the Jeep Wagoneer in 2018. We don't know much about this vehicle yet, but we do know that it will be a full-size SUV that could be even larger than the Jeep Grand Cherokee. We also learned that the production of the Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot will be ceased in 2016, to be replaced with a still-unknown compact SUV.

Here at Courtesy Chrysler Jeep Dodge, we can't help but be excited by these announcements. Current models of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, have Grand Rapids residents raving about their power, versatility, and innovative technologies. But in three years, the automobile landscape could be completely different, and this is one of the reasons for the vehicle redesigns.

Jeep executives also cited the need to expand into emerging markets such as Asia and South America. In fact, Mike Manley, CEO of the Jeep brand, stated that sales of Jeep vehicles in China have doubled from 338,000 in 2009 to more than 732,000 last year. We'll surely be counting down the days until these new vehicles hit our new inventory!
