Bill Murray Drives a Classic Chrysler Town & Country in New Film

When you think of people that just have that sense of old-school cool, actor Bill Murray is surely one of the first to come to mind. First known for his roles in goofy comedy films and television shows such as "Saturday Night Live" and "Ghostbusters," Murray has transitioned into starring in more serious dramas and independent comedies. His newest film,
"St. Vincent," is set to be released in the fall, and co-stars Melissa McCarthy.

Now, you may be wondering what Bill Murray has to do with our Grand Rapids Chrysler dealership. To answer that question, in the trailer that was just released for "St. Vincent," Murray is driving none other than the revered Chrysler minivan, the Chrysler Town & Country. But it isn't just any Town & Country; the minivan that Murray is driving is a classic convertible model from the 1980s. We can't make out exactly what year the van was manufactured, but Chrysler manufactured convertible versions of the Town & Country from 1983 to 1986, which featured plastic woodgrain paneling to elicit comparisons to 1940s convertibles.

In the film, Murray plays a retired curmudgeon who spends most of his time driving his Town & Country to the bar and the race track. However, when he meets McCarthy's character, she finds him to be a misunderstood man with a good heart. One thing we suggest for his character is to upgrade his Town & Country. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with driving a vehicle from the 1980s, the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country that Grand Rapids residents love has a number of great technology, entertainment, and convenience features that are suited for the likes of Bill Murray. Come check it out at our dealership today!
