2014 Dodge Grand Caravan a Big Hit Among Small Businesses

While the Dodge Grand Caravan has built its reputation on being a minivan that is perfect for carrying families around the Grand Rapids area, people sometimes forget that it is a versatile vehicle. Attracting buyers from as far away as Lansing, the Dodge Grand Caravan models in our new Dodge inventory are also loved by small business owners and are commonly used for commercial purposes.

Even though the Grand Caravan often is perceived as a vehicle that is most appropriate for soccer moms driving their kids around town, this image couldn't be any further from the truth. Look in the parking lot of any Grand Rapids-area small business and there's a good chance you'll see a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan. While Chrysler does offer heavier-duty vehicles, it has been found by the Windsor Star that small business owners such as handymen, florists, and electricians often prefer the Dodge Grand Caravan.

Udo Kiewitz is the general manager of a Chrysler dealership in Windsor, Ontario, where the Grand Caravan is manufactured. He said that the Grand Caravan is favored by contractors because they're good on gas and have plenty of cargo space. They especially enjoy the Stow 'n' Go seats that retract into the floor to open up a ton of cargo space, perfect for hauling around tools of the trade.

It has also been found that the Grand Caravan is also a big hit among taxi companies. At Vets' Cab in Windsor, Grand Caravan vehicles make up two thirds of the taxi fleet. Fuel savings, easier access, and increased passenger space are the main reasons for this shift from traditional four-door sedans to the Grand Caravan.
